A cyclist was seriously hurt and two other riders suffered minor injuries after a van struck a group of bikers and failed to stop.

Police said the cyclists were riding in Marlingford Road, near Bawburgh, on the outskirts of Norwich, when they were struck by a white transit van at about 10:00 BST on Tuesday.

A male cyclist was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where he remained.

Police said the van's driver-side wing mirror was knocked off in the incident and appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

The van was being driven near the Bawbugh Road junction when it encountered the cyclists, which were heading in the opposite direction, towards Marlingford.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dashcam footage or may have seen the damaged vehicle is asked to contact police.
