A section of a major route connecting the Isle of Man's capital with the north of the island has reopened after it was closed due to ice.

The Isle of Man Constabulary shut the A18 Mountain Road, from the Creg ny Baa Backroad junction to Barrule Park, Ramsey, overnight due to adverse conditions.

A yellow weather warning for ice and snow is in place across the island until 15:00 GMT.

The road was re-gritted on earlier with the route subsequently reopened.
