Police confirmed a man was arrested on suspicion of murder

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in Walsall.

Police were called to Lichfield Street shortly before 05:00 GMT on Saturday where a 51-year-old man was found injured and unconscious.

He received treatment for his injuries but was pronounced dead at the scene, the West Midlands force said.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in Wolverhampton at about 21:00 GMT on Sunday.

"He remains in custody today as our investigation continues, while we continue to support the [family of the deceased]," a police spokesperson said.
