Police closed Spruce Drive, Heather Drive, Heather Place and Boghead Road while crews battled the flames.

East Dunbartonshire Council said the roads reopened at about 14:00.

The fire service left the site at about 16:40 and Police Scotland took over the incident.

The school and nursery at Campsie View catered to children and young people with additional support needs and had about 100 pupils at a time.

It was absorbed into the new Woodland View Primary School in August 2023.
