People told to avoid area as crews battle house fire

People have been advised to avoid an area in a city while fire crews fight a house fire.

Thames Valley Police said it was supporting Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service at a fire in a residential property on Whetstone Close in the Heelands area of Milton Keynes.

People must avoid the area, and residents have been advised by police to keep doors and windows closed.

Officers confirmed that no one had been injured as a result of the fire.
