Man completes 48-hour walk around football ground

A man has completed a 48-hour walk without sleep around a football ground, in order to raise money for a dementia charity.
Manny Singh Kang was joined for some of his laps around Wolverhampton Wanderers' Molineux stadium by people ranging from local schoolchildren to the rockstar Robert Plant.
“It was sensational,” Mr Singh Kang said of the public turnout, in a video posted on his Facebook page.
He has raised more than £260,000 for Dementia UK in recent years with sponsored walks and marathons, as well as by serving samosas at Wolves matches.
The 51-year-old completed his latest challenge on Saturday afternoon and persisted despite heavy rainfall that caused flooding across the West Midlands last week.
“I pretty much had my umbrella for 12 hours on my shoulder,” he said in his video statement, referring to one night of heavy downpours.
He added that during the two-day challenge some people joined him for one lap, while others stayed for three or four hours. Strangers also brought him cups of tea and chocolate to keep him going.
Led Zeppelin singer Plant, who was brought up in the Black Country and is a longtime Wolves fan, also made an appearance to show his support.
Mr Singh Kang posted on Facebook that his walk had raised £20,000 as of Sunday night.
The fundraiser's previous challenges for Dementia UK include walking 125 miles (201km) from Molineux to Chelsea's Stamford Bridge in 2022.
Earlier this year, he walked 192 miles (308.99km) from Wolverhampton to Newcastle's St James’ Park.
He has also run the London Marathon four times for the charity and serves up samosas at Wolves home games in exchange for donations.
