Man in court accused of police attempted murder

A 27-year-old man has appeared in court charged with attempted murder and six other offences after three officers were injured at Talbot Green police station.
Alexander Dighton, from Llantrisant, Rhondda Cynon Taf, represented himself at the Old Bailey in London on Friday charged with seven offences, including attempted murder and assault of an emergency worker.
Mr Dighton asked Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb if he could enter a plea but was told he could not.
He was remanded in custody until the trial preparatory hearing at the Old Bailey on 28 March.

Police said there was a violent struggle after officers challenged a man allegedly damaging cars at Talbot Green police station at about 19:00 GMT on 31 January.
Three officers were injured, with two taken to hospital and treated for their injuries.
Both have now been discharged and Ch Supt Stephen Jones said they were "shaken" but no officers sustained any major injuries.
