A 71-year-old woman who was attacked outside a Stourport supermarket has died, police have said.

The woman was attacked along with a man aged 65 outside a branch of Lidl on Wednesday, and two people in their 60s have arrested.

West Mercia Police previously revealed a 67-year-old man and 62-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm (GBH), but has since said they would be questioned on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter.

In an earlier appeal, officers said four people were reported to have been involved in a fight outside the Vale Road store in Stourport-on-Severn, Worcestershire, before they all left the area.

Det Insp Warren Matthews said: "Inquiries are on-going to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and we are keen to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have dash cam footage from Lidl car park."

The suspects remained in custody, the force said.
