Two men have been arrested after a man was slashed outside a shop and a second man suffered a head injury.

Police were called to Reeds Lane in Leasowe, Wirral, at 09:00 BST, Merseyside Police said.

A man was taken to hospital with a slash injured although his injuries were not believed to be life threatening, the force added.

A second man suffered a head injury which did not require hospital treatment.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent.

"We are currently examining CCTV and speaking to witnesses and I would encourage anyone with any information which could assist us to contact us as soon as possible," Det Insp Phil Ryan said.
