A man who absconded from an open prison in Lincolnshire may have spoken to people in the Skegness area, police said.

Aaron Wood, 54, was reported missing from North Sea Camp in Boston just before 08:00 BST on Monday.

Officers searching for him confirmed they had received several credible reports of sightings.

They asked anyone who may have spoken to a man claiming to be on a charity walk between Lands End and John O'Groats to get in touch.

Wood was last known to be wearing a green bomber jacket, black cargo trousers, a black coat and a black backpack.

Lincolnshire Police said Wood was thought to still be in those clothes.

The prisoner is described as about 5ft 8ins (1.73m) tall, of medium build with a bald head and blue eyes.

He has a distinctive scar on his forehead and a tattoo with the words AC/DC on his right forearm.

Members of the public are being urged not to approach Wood and anyone who many have spotted him is being asked to contact the police.
