Coventry City have appointed an employee of Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain as chief business officer, in a newly-created role.

Nicola Ibbetson, the French club's global partnerships director, will oversee all commercial, retail, digital and marketing activities, with a focus on accelerating the Sky Blues' growth and "driving revenue".

Ms Ibbetson, who starts the job next month, has been chief commercial officer at Aston Villa and also worked at the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Sky Blues have also announced the departure of chief operating officer John Taylor, who joined them in February last year.

They said he had made a "valuable contribution to the success and improvements" at the club, thanked him for his hard work and wished him "the best of luck for the future".

Ms Ibbetson's activities have included being an independent member of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games legacy and benefits committee.
