Man, 74, dies after being hit by bus

An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is under way

A pedestrian has died following a bus crash in Nottingham.

Emergency services were called to the A60 Loughborough Road in West Bridgford at about 17.30 BST on Monday.

A 74-year-old man was taken from the scene by ambulance but died later in hospital.

The force said officers were investigating the circumstances of the crash and the man's family was being supported.

Det Con Liah Lane said: “This was a tragic incident that has resulted in a man’s untimely death.

"A file will now be prepared for the Coroner. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this very difficult time."
