Goods worth £269,000 were stolen from a lorry as the driver slept at a motorway service station in Staffordshire.

Twenty-four pallets were taken from the vehicle, including cameras and other high-value technology, said police.

A white VW van was also taken from a flat-bed truck in the car park at Keele Services to move the stolen items, and later recovered.

The theft happened between midnight on Tuesday 23 January and 03:00 GMT the next day on the northbound side of the M6 services.

Staffordshire Police is urging people who were at the services that night and may have witnessed the theft to get in touch.
