A sandcastle competition, tug-of-war, live music and Guernsey delicacy beanjar are among St Peter’s Parish’s Liberation Day plans.

The free event will take place on L’Eree common and beach on 9 May, between 11:00 and 21:45 BST.

The annual celebration commemorates the end of the German occupation of Guernsey in World War Two.

Event organiser Anne Thomas said the event would be about "community celebration".
