Two teenagers have died and two others are in a critical condition after a crash near Exeter, police have said.
The crash involving a silver Peugeot 107 happened at about 01:20 BST on a back road at Haldon near Exeter Racecourse, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
The 18-year-old male driver and a 16-year-old female passenger died at the scene, the force said.
It said two other passengers, a 16 year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl, remain in a critical condition in hospital. A fifth passenger, a 16-year-old, suffered minor injuries.
Police said next of kin had been informed and were being supported by officers.
Sgt Phil Brown, from the serious collisions investigation team, said anyone with information or dashcam footage should come forward.
"Our thoughts are with the families following this tragic incident," he said.
"We understand the community will be concerned about this incident involving young members of our community.
"I wish to reassure the public that specialist officers are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision and would particularly like to speak to any witnesses who we have not yet spoken to."
