4x4: The four sisters who live in Norfolk got matching cars and very similar number number plates

Four sisters are hoping to keep the memory of their parents alive after each buying the same model of car, along with nearly identical number plates.

Glynis Jenkins, 62, from Stoke Ferry, in Norfolk, is the youngest of four siblings who all snapped up a Mazda MX-5 with part of their inheritance money.

Ms Jenkins, alongside her sisters Beverly Chase, 65, Bridget Chadderton, 67, and Stephanie Ellis, 69, got number plates which had the initials of their father's name, along with mother's nickname.

She said: "We really wanted to share a bond and going out in our MX-5 for drives gives us memories of mum and dad."

The siblings grew up in Marham with their parents Brian Dack, who passed away in 2001, and his wife, Peggy.

After Mrs Dack passed away in 2024, Ms Jenkins said she was thinking of buying an MX-5 as one of her sisters already owned one.

She said after consideration all four siblings decided to buy similar Mazdas with the remainder of their inheritance money.

They later got personalised number plates with the first two letters, BD, representing Mr Dack's initials and 'PEG' for their mum's nickname.

"It is a loving memory and is something different and something to keep," Ms Jenkins said.

The sisters are members of a local MX-5 club which travels across the country.

When they first joined, Ms Jenkins said it "was unheard of" for four sisters to each own an MX-5.

She said whilst travelling across the UK, people always question why they have the same number plates.

All four sisters loved to "tell their story and keep memories alive", she added.

She said her parents "would love the idea" of their daughters all having the vehicles.

But she joked her mum "would probably moan getting into it" if she was still here.
