Reuse shops open at recycling centres

Reuse shops have opened at some of Cornwall's recycling centres.
Home and garden accessories, small electricals, sports equipment, books and DVDs, will be sold at "affordable prices" at Kernow Reuse Shops.
They are run by Suez Recycling and Recovery UK, on behalf of Cornwall Council, to help reduce waste and protect the environment.
The authority said shops had opened at recycling centres in Truro and St Austell, with another due to open at United Downs.
Becky Parry, Renew Manager at Suez, said: "Our goal is to make reuse accessible and affordable for everyone in our local communities, whilst creating a positive impact on the environment.
"We believe that by promoting reuse and recycling across the county, we can all work together towards a greener future for Cornwall."
Councillor Carol Mould, the council's portfolio holder for neighbourhoods, said: “We see so many items taken to our [recycling centres] that are perfectly useable, including some things that are brand new and still in the box.
“This great initiative is all about preventing waste and giving pre-loved items a new lease of life.”
