Man jailed for strangling and beating woman

A man has been jailed for more than four years after he admitted strangling and beating a woman.
Liam Bottomley was sentenced at York Crown Court after he pleaded guilty to charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation and assault by beating.
The court heard the 34-year-old, formerly of Londesborough Road, Scarborough, attacked the victim between 15 and 27 April in Filey.
Bottomley, who was in breach of two suspended sentences, was jailed for four years and four months and given a 15-year restraining order.
