Village to lose High Street Post Office
- Published
Street in Somerset will lose its Post Office on the High Street next year, when the village's WHSmith closes its doors.
It will leave the village, which has a population of more than 11,000 and a major shopping centre, with only one Post Office from 2025.
The shop is attached to the now-empty Crispin Centre.
A spokesperson for WHSmith said it was not sustainable to continue trading in that location.
The spokesperson added: "We remain in discussion with our landlord, however we expect our store in Street to close in early 2025."
There is a new listing for someone else to provide Post Office services at its business.
