Guernsey leisure centre closes for police training

A leisure centre in Guernsey will be closed to the public on Wednesday for police training.

Bailiwick Law Enforcement said officers were taking part in a training day at Beau Sejour leisure centre to ensure it was "prepared for an emergency".

The site announced on social media, external it would be closed to the public all day to "complete important staff training".

In a statement, Bailiwick Law Enforcement, external said: "If you see police in the area or on their way to the site, please do not be alarmed.

"Training exercises like this are crucial to ensure we are ready to work with our partners across the public sector and to ensure we are prepared to protect the public in all kinds of scenarios."
