Knife attackers told victim to say his last words

Two men who stabbed a man in a car park while telling him to say his last words have been found guilty of attempted murder.

The 20-year-old man was stabbed in the car park of B&M Bargains in Luton on 24 July 2023 by Abdul Hussain, of Maidenhall Road, and Ehsan Kham, of Pembroke Avenue.

Bedfordshire Police said Hussain and Kha, both 19, chased the victim from Wingate Road to the car park, where they told him to "read the Kalima" - to say his last words - before attacking him.

They were convicted at Huntingdon Crown Court and are due to be sentenced on 3 September.

Bedfordshire Police said Hussain was arrested quickly, though Khan had fled the country and was not arrested until his return in August.

Det Con Nema Behzadi, from Bedfordshire Police's specialist Boson gangs and guns unit, said: “This was a shocking and frenzied attack in which Hussain and Khan showed clear intent to kill their victim.

“Knife crime ruins the lives not just of those who are victims to it and their families, but also the lives of offenders such as Hussain and Khan who will now face a substantial amount of their lives behind bars."
