The subsidies cover part of the cost of the audits

More than 1,000 subsidies for home energy audits to improve the energy efficiency of Jersey homes were awarded in 2023, says the government.
The audits provide homeowners with an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) that rates their home’s energy use and carbon footprint, and suggests ways to improve them, officials said.
EPCs will be mandatory for all properties sold or rented from 2026 under government plans.
It also plans to phase out the subsidies gradually over the next few years.
Since the launch of the scheme in April 2022, 1,345 subsidies have been funded, with 1,095 of them in 2023.
The subsidies cover part of the cost of the audits, which vary depending on the size of the property.
For example, the subsidy is £250 for a three-bed property, which covers most or all of the cost of the audit, depending on the contractor.
The subsidy amount would be reduced from March 2024, and further reductions would follow in January 2025, officials said.
