Officials confirmed Klayton Smith died at Lowdham Grange on Friday

Another prisoner has died at a jail in Nottinghamshire that was branded "unsafe" by inspectors.

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) confirmed Klayton Smith, 32, and serving his sentence at HMP Lowdham Grange, died on Friday.

A spokesman said there was no ongoing police investigation into the death.

Five other prisoners at the jail have died in 2025, which was criticised by inspectors in a report released earlier this year.

A statement from the MoJ said: "HMP Lowdham Grange prisoner Klayton Smith died on Friday 7 November.

"As with all deaths in custody, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will investigate."
