Andrew Eade said Church Aston should at least get concessions from the developer

A former parish council leader has promised to fight "tooth and nail" against plans for 166 homes.

Andrew Eade, who led Church Aston Parish Council, has spoken out after a renewed bid to build homes on land in the village was deemed potentially suitable by Telford and Wrekin Council.

In 2024, a previous bid to build on the same site attracted major local opposition, being described as a "major threat to the future character" of Church Aston.

Eade, a Conservative councillor in the village, accepted that Telford and Wrekin's stance on the Bellway Homes bid weakened the case against the houses being built, but said he would fight on.

He said his fallback position would be getting concessions from the developers to pay for various schemes, including flood prevention.

The Bellway Homes application includes pledges to provide access to the A518, a play area, footpaths and drainage.

The firm has been approached for comment.
