Firefighters have tackled a huge blaze at a former cinema building in Fife.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) was called to the incident in Bank Street, Lochgelly, just after13:00.

Footage posted on social media showed the roof destroyed as flames ripped through the vacant building.

The SFRS said four fire engines and a height vehicle were dispatched to the blaze.

Police Scotland closed the street to the public and asked locals to avoid the area and keep windows shut.
