Two people who were walking a suspected XL bully that killed another dog are being sought by police.
A woman was walking her small white schnauzer and poodle mixed breed between Hanwell Fields, in Banbury, and St Peter's Church, in Hanwell, between 10:20 and 10:35 GMT on Wednesday.
She entered a field and her dog was attacked by the suspected XL bully, which was not on a lead.
Her dog died at the scene and a man and a woman recalled their dog before they left, police said.
The white man was wearing all black clothes and the white woman was about 5ft 5in (165cm) tall.
She had blonde hair, which was tied back in a ponytail and was wearing a blue gilet and blue jeans.
They are thought to have had two XL bullies, which had a grey and silver coat pattern and white chests, but work is ongoing to confirm their breed.
PC Alex Ward, of Thames Valley Police, asked anyone who saw what happened to contact officers.
