A stretch of the A27 westbound in Hampshire is set to close for repairs to a bridge.

The bridge, between Havant and Emsworth over Wade Court Road needs new bridge joints and a central barrier, waterproofing and resurfacing.

National Highways said the work was expected to "generate some noise for which we apologise in advance".

The road will shut on Friday from 21:00 until 06:00 on Monday followed by four overnight closures.

Traffic will be diverted via Emsworth Road to Park Road South and drivers are being advised they should allow extra time for their journeys.

From 20-23 September the section of eastbound carriageway will close at the same location and times. Followed by four overnight closures.

The diversion will be in place in the opposite direction for the upcoming eastbound closure.
