CatVideoFest is a compilation of the latest cat videos

A cinema in Gloucestershire is screening a compilation of cat videos for the first time.

Wotton Electric Picture House will host a special showing of CatVideoFest later. The cinema will donate 10% of the box office to Cotswolds Dogs and Cats home.

CatVideoFest is a compilation reel of cat videos collated from internet clips.

Gareth Negus, from Wotton Electric Picture House, said it would be "an hour and a quarter of non-stop cat videos".

"People love cat videos, why not have a show where everybody watches cat videos together and it's a big communal experience," he said.

CatVideoFest has already been seen in more than 250 cinemas in the United States and Canada, as well as more than 100 cinemas in Europe.

"It's the very best of the internet distilled into one evening's entertainment," said Mr Negus.

The project raises money for cat charities, animal welfare organisations and shelters.
