Derbyshire Police are seeking to "urgently" recruit 24 temporary workers to assist with a "complex, large-scale" murder investigation.

Dale Martin, known as DJ, died in hospital after he was attacked in Stenson Road in Derby at about 23:45 BST on 15 June.

A total of 30 people have been arrested in relation to the 21-year-old's death, with one being charged for a weapons offence and the other 29 bailed.

The temporary roles include 14 enquiry officers, a CCTV coordinator, exhibits officer and several document indexers.

The roles will pay between £17-£23 per hour, and applicants must already have already been security vetted.

Derbyshire Police said the number of ongoing murder investigations in the county was another factor in deciding to recruit extra staff, for an initial period of 12 weeks.

One person, Kaylen Kelly-Basi, has been charged in connection with Dale Martin's death.

He was charged with possession of an offensive weapon, which police said was found when carrying out a search in relation to an incident that took place the same evening as Dale Martin's death.

He has been remanded in custody, while the remainder of the people arrested have been released on conditional bail while the inquiry continues.
