Six more men arrested in stab murder inquiry

Six more men have been arrested by police investigating the fatal stabbing of a 23-year-old man in Bradford.

Luqman Ishfaq was found with stab wounds on Barlow Street in the Barkerend area of the city on Monday night.

Five men aged 22, 24, 24, 28 and 44 have been arrested on suspicion of murder. The 28-year-old was also held in connection with violent disorder, with a 31-year-old man also arrested over violent disorder.

Two other men, aged 26 and 28, were arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday. The 28-year-old has been bailed pending further inquiries.

West Yorkshire Police said Mr Ishfaq and three others were chased by a group of men before he was beaten and stabbed.

Forensic examinations continue in the area, with scenes in place including on Kimberley Street.

Mr Ishfaq had been due to face a charge of affray dating back to an incident in December 2021, but criminal proceedings against him were discontinued at Bradford Crown Court on Friday.
