Is it Love Actually for Keith Metcalfe's dance?

A head teacher has found unexpected fame after a video of him recreating Hugh Grant's iconic dance from the 2003 Christmas film Love Actually went viral.

Keith Metcalfe, from Malvern College in Worcestershire, put his own spin on the famous scene, in a video posted to the school's Instagram account.

It has been viewed nearly 435,000 times.

"I'm not much of a social media person," said Mr Metcalfe. "It's quite amusing really."

The original scene shows Hugh Grant's prime minister dancing around 10 Downing Street to the Pointer Sisters song Jump (For My Love).

Mr Metcalfe said he was persuaded to do it by the school's marketing team for an end-of-term staff quiz.

"It was the end of term, the pupils had just gone home," he said.

"They wanted to go out with a bang and got me at a weak point."

The students and staff were quite surprised to see him dancing down the stairs and through the corridors of Malvern College, added Mr Metcalfe.

But he said he was happy to show them he was more than a head teacher.

"We do a lot of work on role modelling," he said. "We want our pupils to be role models.

"I think sometimes as the head you've just got to show that you're normal too."

He said he was prepared for the fact that his new-found fame meant he might get recognised when out and about.

"I suspect I will get a few comments when I pop into the supermarket," he said.

"But it's great to hear people are smiling – that's what we want.

"I was certainly a little bit embarrassed by doing it.

"But if you want dad dancing, I can do dad dancing."
