A Ukrainian culture minister is to give a talk in Hull, the city council said.

Galyna Grygorenko will be the keynote speaker at the Cultural Tides conference at Hull Truck Theatre on 14 March.

She will introduce and speak about a documentary film called Culture vs War.

Ms Grygorenko said she was "delighted to be invited to visit Hull".

"For me, it is an opportunity to showcase the artists and creatives who have strived to raise the voice of the Ukrainian people and culture, and who have continued to raise spirits and tell our stories," she said.

"It is also an opportunity to extend and deepen our relationship and partnership with Hull, and I look forward to meeting Hull's civic leaders, creatives and the local community."

The event is being supported by the British Council.
