Woman dies after being struck by car at supermarket

An 86-year-old woman has died after being hit by a car in a supermarket car park in Nottingham.

Emergency services were called to Iceland in Nuthall Road at 14:20 BST on Monday.

Nottinghamshire Police said the woman suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead in hospital in the early hours of Wednesday.

Officers have appealed for anyone who saw what happened, particularly those with dashcam footage, to contact the force.

Det Con Liah Lane said: "The woman's family is being supported by specialist officers following this tragic incident.

"They have asked for privacy at what must be an extremely difficult time."
