A woman was seriously injured in a motorway crash between a lorry and a car at the weekend.

Saturday's crash forced part of the M6 near Coventry to close for more than five hours.

Warwickshire Police said at the weekend that a woman in her 50s had been taken to hospital with serious injuries and she was in a stable condition.

The woman was the driver of the car and had to be extricated from her vehicle by the fire service, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.

The police have been contacted for an update on the woman’s condition.
