An aircraft parts manufacturer wants to build a new factory which could create more than 50 jobs.

Techtest already employs 328 people at the Rotherwas enterprise zone in Herefordshire, making emergency locator and testing equipment.

If approved, the new building would include a small school for local apprentices.

Herefordshire Council is expected to make a decision on the plans next month.

The new 3,100-square-metre factory would be built on a vacant plot in Hursey Road.

Techtest, part of the American HR Smith group, is one of the largest employers in the Rotherwas enterprise zone, where it already occupies ten buildings.

It also has a base in Kingsland.

The application promises landscaping around the site, including the planting of berry-producing and nectar-rich shrubs and hedgehog houses.
