Women asked to share experiences of menopause care
- Published
Women are being invited to share their experiences on menopause care in a bid to improve available services.
The third "in your shoes" event will be held at Keyll Darree at Noble's Hospital on 30 July from 17:00 to 19:00 BST.
Experience and engagement lead Karen Maddox said the findings would feed into the women's health strategy.
With up to 25 spaces, the session will be a focus group where individuals can share their experiences of menopause support with doctors, nurses and specialists.
Menopause care had been identified as an area for improvement by the Manx Care Advice and Liaison Service (MCALS).
'Make things better'
Ms Maddox said that the health body would look to listen to "ideas from the people that use our services" so the health care body could "go away and make changes".
It would enable Manx Care to "start to listen, learn and understand what the impact is and what we can do to make things better" for women before, during or at the end of their menopause "journey", she said.
She said that the body was expecting to hear experiences about how good or poor communication on menopause has been, and look into providing better literature, support groups, or online information.
Depending on turnout, Manx Care will look into holding another session on menopause care.
Those who want to attend the session need to book a place by contacting MCALS.
It marks the latest in a series of sessions held by the advice service as part of efforts to improve patient experiences.
