Two cash boxes have been stolen in a convenience shop break-in in the early hours of the morning.

The Co-op store on Station Road in Purton, near Swindon, was targeted at about 03:30 BST and officers were alerted by the alarm and a passer-by.

There was also damage to the door and it is believed three men - two of which appeared to have crowbars and one carrying a screwdriver - were involved, Wiltshire Police said.

The force is appealing for witnesses and described all three men as white, 5ft 8 tall, stocky, dressed in dark clothing with scarfs covering their faces and wearing white gloves.

Anyone with information or who was passing the area around the time who may have dash cam footage has been urged to get in touch.
