Child on quad bike arrested for 'dangerous driving'

A 12-year-old seen on a quad bike has been arrested for dangerous driving and possession of a machete.

Cambridgeshire police stopped four children who were riding the vehicle along the Chisholm Trail, Cambridge, on Saturday.

Officers also arrested the driver on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and taking a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.

Police said they found a machete and catapults.

A police spokesperson said: "He [the driver] was also arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon after a machete and catapults were found.

"The boy has since been bailed until next month."
