Overturned lorry causes motorway entry closure

The road is expected to remain closed for most of the morning

Access to a motorway was closed and a driver taken to hospital after a lorry overturned.

Bedfordshire Police was called to the entry slip road at junction 13 of the M1 southbound, near Milton Keynes, at about 05:40 BST.

The force warned drivers to expect delays and seek alternative routes.

According to the police, the driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Officers added that the vehicle was expected to be recovered later in the morning.

National Highways said it expected the road to return to normal conditions after 11:00.
