Firefighters tackle blaze at Althorp House building

Firefighters have been tackling a blaze at an Althorp House industrial unit in Northamptonshire.

Charles Spencer, who owns Althorp House, posted on X , externalthat the blaze had taken place in an empty unit and he was "grateful" to crews who extinguished it.

Earl Spencer, the younger brother of Diana, Princess of Wales, added that no-one was hurt in the incident.

Northamptonshire Fire & Rescue said earlier it was fighting a "large fire", external in Harlestone Firs, which is about two miles from Althorp House.

Northamptonshire Police said it also attended the scene.

The fire appears to have been at the site previously occupied by Harlestone Supplies, which the Northampton Chronicle & Echo, external reported has been closed for over a year.
