A woman whose body was found on a Norfolk beach has been named by a coroner.

The body of Glenys Shelton, 69, was discovered by a member of the public on Hunstanton Beach, opposite the Sea Life centre, on Friday, 20 October.

At the opening of her inquest, senior coroner Jacqueline Lake said the medical cause of death was drowning.

A full inquest has been set for Friday, 19 April.

Norfolk Constabulary said Ms Shelton's death was not being treated as suspicious.

Detectives also believed it was not linked to Storm Babet, which swept across Norfolk in mid-October.

Ms Shelton lived on Austin Street in Hunstanton and was a retired retail entrepreneur, Norfolk Coroners' Court was told during a short hearing on Thursday.
