An investigation is under way after a police vehicle hit a pedestrian in Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire Police set up a cordon after the pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, was hit at 15:47 BST on Tuesday in Woodhouse Way in Nuthall.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics, but her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, the force added.

The road was closed for investigation work to take place and long delays were reported.

A spokesperson for the force said: "In line with standard procedure, we have referred the matter to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC)."
