A police officer is due to appear in court accused of raping a woman at a hotel

PC Thomas Irwin, who is based at Reading police station, is accused of attacking the woman at the Premier Inn Central in Milton Keynes, on 17 December 2023.

Thames Valley Police said the alleged incident, at the hotel of Avebury Boulevard, was reported to them on 11 July 2024 and the officer was arrested a week later.

He was charged on 22 August this year of two counts of raping a woman aged 16 or over and one count of assault to a female 13 and over by penetration, according to the force. He is due to appear at Luton Magistrates' Court on Thursday.
