Assault charge after man found injured in street

A man has been charged with assault after another man was discovered in a street with multiple facial and head injuries.
The injured man was found by a member of the public in the early hours of Saturday morning near the library on York Road in Hartlepool.
He was taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The 34-year-old charged with assault has been remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Magistrates Court on Monday.
