A two-day event aimed at encouraging greater interest in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) is being held in Wolverhampton.

SciFest is run by the University of Wolverhampton, and features free workshops, interactive science shows and experiments.

"The SciFest festival is our way of reaching out to schools, colleges and the local community to show them that STEM is something for everyone," said Dr Martin Khechara from the university.

The event, which is now into its 12th year, is being held at the university's city campus on 28 and 29 June.

The festival will include the chance to "explore the human body in a way you never thought possible" and "play bingo to live rock music with audience-controlled robots," said Dr Khechara.

Alongside staff from all the faculties of the university, exhibitors will include the British Army, RAF Museum Midlands, West Midlands Police, and Dudley and Twycross Zoos.
