Police officer injured in three-point turn crash

A police officer has been taken to hospital after their unmarked vehicle was struck by another car while carrying out a three-point turn.

The crash happened at about 05:30 BST when the car, carrying two officers, was hit performing the manoeuvre on Rochdale Road.

Emergency services helped remove one of the officers from the vehicle before taking them to hospital.

Their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
