Witness appeal after cyclist injured in hit and run

Police are appealing for witnesses after an 82-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in a suspected hit and run crash in East Sussex.

The man had been riding a red and black bicycle on the A275 Lewes Road in Chelwood Gate, near Uckfield, when the incident happened at 12:30 BST on 19 June.

A vehicle may have been involved but failed to stop at the scene, police said.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage of the incident, which happened close to the junction with Sandy Lane, is urged to contact police.
