Cash was stolen from a convenience store that was ram-raided in Bristol, police have said.

The Morrisons Daily on Arnside Road, in the Southmead area of the city, was robbed shortly before 06:00 BST, Avon and Somerset Police said.

Officers said cash was stolen from the shop and staff were left "shaken" after they were threatened.

Nobody was hurt during the robbery, police said.

House-to-house inquiries have taken place and officers were reviewing CCTV footage, the force added.

One offender was described by police as mixed race, about 5ft 9in (1.75m) in height and wearing a green mac-style coat and a grey cap. His face was partially covered.

The driver of the vehicle used to smash through the doors was described as white.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police.
