Delivery driver helps police find £87K cannabis farm

A call from a suspicious delivery driver led police to a cannabis factory worth an estimated £87,000.

Cambridgeshire Police said the driver "had some concerns" about a property they had tried to deliver a parcel to in the village of Wisbech St Mary, Cambridgeshire.

They noticed "all the windows were covered up and {they} could smell cannabis".

In a post on social media, external, the force said: "Our neighbourhood officers went to the house and discovered this cannabis factory worth up to £87,000."

Police said no-one was in when they arrived at the house and no arrests have yet been made.

The force has urged the public to get in touch if they suspect a house is being used to grow cannabis. Tell-tale signs include covered-up windows, the constant buzz of ventilation, visitors at unsociable hours, bright lights on throughout the day and night, and condensation on windows.
