Planning permission has been requested to convert a closed indoor children's play centre in Shipley into a place of worship.

An application by Christian Life Church, on Manor Lane in Shipley, has asked Bradford Council to retrospectively approve the change.

The building's downstairs hall was converted into a play centre in the summer of 2012 and was then in use for 12 years, according to the application.

The play centre then shut in December of last year, it added.

Documents attached to the application said "no changes whatsoever" needed to be made to the Grade II listed building itself as part of the conversion.

They also said the change would "revert the entire church building" back into a place of worship, "as it was originally".
